Car radio extraction tools

Q. Can you decode all Car Radios, CD players, Navigation or Multimedia ICE systems?
A. No, but, if they are being honest, neither can anyone else. We can decode 100's of different makes & models but if we can't do yours then we don't charge you for the decoding attempt. Thanks to our 'NCNC' guarantee.

Q. Can you decode 'Transponder Key' type immobilisers?
A. No. The only immobilisers that we decode are the keypad type fitted to certain Citroen, Peugeot & Renault models. See our 'Keypad Immobiliser Decoding' page for further details.

Q. Can you get a security code number for a car radio from the serial numbers?
A. Yes we can decode or provide a code for certain models from information on the labels attached to the radios. See our 'Serial Number Decoding' page for further details.

Q. I live outside the United Kingdom, can I get a car radio decoded by you?
A. Yes, but only if it can be done from the serial number. We only accept payment in our own currency - GB Pounds Sterling via Cheque or Paypal.

Q. If I put my cars radio into a freezer for a few hours will it remove the code request?
A. No, this is an urban myth, all that will happen is that the radio will be ruined, probably beyond economic repair.

Q. I have been told that some car audio systems will only work in the original vehicle that they were fitted in. Is this true?
A. Yes. Some audio systems store security information about the vehicle they are fitted in, and will not work in any other vehicle. We can now recode most of them so they will work in another vehicle.

Q. Can I keep trying different codes until I guess the correct one for my car stereo?
A. No, most car stereos will lock you out and prevent you from trying, after about 3 wrong attempts. Further attempts can permanently lock out your radio.

Q. Are there 'Master Codes' that can be used to unlock car stereo systems?
A. With the exception of a couple of models, that we know of, out of literally hundreds and hundreds, the answer is definitely, No.

Q. Do you have to connect your equipment to my car radio in order to unlock it?
A. Yes, with one or two exceptions, because the lock-out information is stored inside the radios electronic memory system.

Q. I have got a code from the main dealer, they insist it's the right one but the radio won't accept it. Can you help?
A. In most cases we can help. The code that the dealer gave you is probably correct for your car but not correct for your radio. It is very likely that your radio was changed for another at some point in it's history. This is quite a common occurence in the motor trade.

Q. Will you provide the correct code for my car audio system from a 'Serial Code' request?
A. Yes, as long as you provide us with the correct information, and it has not had its code changed by a previous decode or repair attempt. See our 'Serial Number Decoding' page for further details.
